PokéXciting kicks off Pokémon's 30th anniversary festivities in Pokémon GO: a stamp rally spread across five Asia-Pacific cities, running from September 12, 2026 to September 11, 2029. Each city gets its own PokéStop, its own digital stamp and its own costumed Pikachu, from Kuala Lumpur's turquoise to Manila's red.

What is the PokéXciting GO Stamp Rally?
It is the first cross-region GO Stamp Rally in Pokémon GO: five dedicated PokéStops, one per participating city, each hand out a digital stamp that lands on your Scrapbook page. Spinning the PokéStop is all it takes, no ticket required, and every stamp triggers an encounter with a PokéXciting Pikachu wigged in that city's color.
The real novelty is one date: these PokéStops stay live from September 12, 2026 to September 11, 2029. Previous stamp rallies came bundled with an event and closed with it; this one stays open for three years. You collect at your own pace, city after city, the way you would fill a travel journal. The announcement on pokemongo.com even calls it "a souvenir from your travels", which is exactly the spirit.
Which cities, which spots, which dates?
Four PokéXciting PokéStops have been live since September 12, 2026: Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore and Manila. Bangkok will complete the map, its exact spot is still unannounced. On top of that, each city hosts its own party weekend, 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time, with festivities and in-game bonuses.
| City | Where to spin the PokéStop | Party weekend | Pikachu |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | KLCC Park, in front of the Esplanade | September 12-13, 2026 | Turquoise wig |
| Taipei, Taiwan | Xiangti Boulevard, Xinyi District | October 10-11, 2026 | Pink wig |
| Singapore | Changi Airport, Terminal 3 Departure Hall | November 7-8, 2026, citywide | Blue wig |
| Manila, Philippines | SM Mall of Asia, MOA Sky | January 23-24, 2027 | Red wig |
| Bangkok, Thailand | Location to be confirmed | February 13-14, 2027 | Not revealed yet |
Changi is the smartest pick of the five: Terminal 3's Departure Hall sits before security, open to any traveler on a layover. The wig colors come from the calendar visual released with the announcement; Bangkok's shade is the map's only remaining mystery.

How do you get the PokéXciting Pikachu and its photo background?
Spin the city's PokéXciting PokéStop: the stamp joins your Scrapbook page and an encounter starts with the local Pikachu, framed by an exclusive Location Background. The caught Pokémon keeps that background in its photos, proof that you really stood there.

Each city dresses its Pikachu in a curly wig of a different color and the same black equalizer t-shirt. Both The Click and MargxT report the Shiny version as available from the encounter; the announcement itself stays silent on it, so keep expectations in check if you hunt Shinies. And if the wigged Pikachu wins you over while Kuala Lumpur stays far away, the Pikachu crystal LED Poké Ball parks the same smile on a nightstand for €29.99, laser-engraved inside the crystal, no boarding pass required.
What did the Kuala Lumpur launch look like?
The September 12-13 weekend at KLCC Park opened the tour: the announcement bills it as "the very first stop of Pokémon's 30th anniversary celebration". On the menu, a second rally of five stamps themed after the Kanto starters, Gigantamax battles against Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise, and Malaysia's first ever Pokémon drone show.

That local rally stays playable for one month after the weekend, enough to catch up on the starter stamps if you pass through Kuala Lumpur in September or early October. Weekend bonuses included double XP on PokéStop spins, half-price Stardust trades, two extra Special Trades and one-hour Lure Modules and Incense.

On the party visual, Gengar struts between the balloons with its trademark mischief grin, next to an Eevee in a party hat. That same grin, laser-engraved in the crystal of the Gengar LED Poké Ball on a wood stand, keeps watch over a shelf just as well, and it never asks to be fed berries.

Can you collect these stamps from Europe or America?
Not remotely: every stamp requires physically spinning that city's PokéStop. The three-year window changes the math, though. One trip to Southeast Asia before September 2029 is enough, and Singapore's stamp sits in Changi Terminal 3's Departure Hall, reachable during a layover without ever leaving the airport.
KLCC Park is dead center in Kuala Lumpur, free to enter at the foot of the Petronas Towers. Xiangti Boulevard runs through Taipei's Xinyi District, MOA Sky tops the SM Mall of Asia in Manila. Collecting costs nothing in-game, no raid pass, no purchase. And while Asia-Pacific stamps away, the calendar back home keeps moving: the Harvest Festival and Shadow Zekrom will fill our evenings from late September.
Why does PokéXciting matter for Pokémon's 30th anniversary?
Because it fires the starting gun on the ground: the announcement calls PokéXciting "the most exciting Pokémon party ever", no less, and Kuala Lumpur its very first stop. The rest is already dated, four cities through February 2027, while the TCG lines up its anniversary expansion and the year-end boxes.
To keep track of everything coming out, our Pokémon 30th anniversary guide keeps the timeline current, September 16 expansion included. I would not be surprised if other regions demand their own stamp PokéStop before 2029: the travel-journal mechanic is too good to stay locked to five cities. While you wait to stamp, the light-up Poké Ball collection lines up 29 Pokémon at the same price, no passport needed.
