Pokémon Horizons Season 4 lands on Netflix on Saturday, February 27, 2027, under the title Wonders Ahead. The Pokémon Company International announced it on October 6, 2026 with a first trailer: Liko, Roy and Captain Pikachu set off to explore the world, joined by Navie and a stowaway Ditto.

Season 3 barely wrapped, September 18, 2026 for the final batch of episodes in the United States, and the next chapter already has a date. Here is everything the October 6 announcement actually contains, what the trailer really shows, and how Season 4 fits into the release calendar, because that is exactly where everyone gets lost.
When does Pokémon Horizons Season 4 come out on Netflix?
Part 1 of Wonders Ahead goes live on February 27, 2027 on Netflix, in the United States and other countries. The date comes from The Pokémon Company International's October 6, 2026 announcement, it only covers Part 1 for now, and no date has been given for every region.
The choice of day is no accident: February 27 is Pokémon Day, the anniversary of Pokémon Red and Green's 1996 launch in Japan. Season 4 will arrive on the franchise's 31st birthday, closing out a packed 30th anniversary year. And the day before, on February 26, 2027, another piece of history shuts down: Pokémon Bank closes its doors for good. One symbol leaves, a new voyage begins, one day apart.
Nothing has been said about the later parts. At the pace set by the first three seasons, four batches spread across the year, Season 4 should roll out from late February through fall 2027. That is our projection, not an announcement.
What is Wonders Ahead about now that Laquium is gone?
The pitch fits in one line from the announcement: "the threat of Laquium is no longer looming," writes The Pokémon Company International. Freed from the storyline that carried the first three seasons, Liko, Roy and Dot embark on a world tour of discoveries, with tougher battles promised and Legendary Pokémon on the bill.

The one-minute trailer is packed with little nods. The best one: the Pokémon surfing on a log, visible right on the thumbnail, is a Rhydon. For an anniversary season, it is hard to be smarter than that, since Game Freak has repeatedly cited Rhydon as the very first Pokémon ever drawn. You will also spot a Maushold family gathered around a bowl of snacking Pokémon, references to Pokémon GO, Pokémon UNITE and Pokémon Sleep, and the Brave, the airship that serves as the crew's flying home.

If the promise of Legendaries gets you going, we get it: it is our favorite shelf too. The Lugia LED Pokéball on a wood stand, at 29.99 €, is exactly the kind of piece you set on the shelf while waiting to find out which giants Season 4 will bring out.
Who are Navie and the Ditto joining the crew?
Navie is a young girl from Lumiose City, the Kalos metropolis, who dreams of making discoveries all around the world. She joins the crew of the Brave along with a Ditto that sneaked on board. Both characters sit at the heart of the season's key visual, with Ditto literally enthroned in the middle of the poster.

A quick note on spelling, because both versions are out there: the international announcement writes "Navie," which is what you will see on Netflix, while fan wikis often romanize the Japanese ナヴィ as "Navi." Same character, introduced in Japan in episode 142, aired July 3, 2026, with Yū Serizawa as her Japanese voice.
Picking Lumiose City is no coincidence either: it is the setting of Pokémon Legends: Z-A and its Mega Dimension expansion, whose complete cartridge edition ships on October 29, 2026. The anime and the game are trading postcards from the same corner of Kalos, and that kind of timing owes nothing to chance.

As for Ditto, it is one of the most fascinating creatures in the Pokédex: a pink blob able to copy any opponent, which the community has suspected for almost thirty years of being a failed clone of Mew. Its openly lab-made big brother is called Mewtwo. On our side, the Mewtwo crystal LED Pokéball with its 3D engraving is one of the most ordered models in the shop, at 29.99 €: clearly, the clone family still fascinates.
Which Netflix season matches which Japanese arc?
This is the question that confuses everyone, and no news page bothers to answer it properly. The Japanese series runs continuously on TV Tokyo, Fridays at 6:55 p.m., while Netflix cuts it into seasons of four parts. Here is the full correspondence table, current as of October 8, 2026.
| Netflix season | Japanese arc | US premiere | Final part |
|---|---|---|---|
| Season 1 | Series start, Paldea | March 7, 2024 | late 2024 |
| Season 2: The Search for Laqua | The Search for Laqua | February 7, 2025 | September 26, 2025 |
| Season 3: Rising Hope | Rising Again and the Mega Evolution episode | January 6, 2026 | September 18, 2026 |
| Season 4: Wonders Ahead | Wonder Voyage, from episode 137 | February 27, 2027 | not announced |
The Wonder Voyage arc, the raw material of this Season 4, has been airing in Japan since May 22, 2026. In other words, the episodes Netflix uploads in February 2027 will be about nine months behind the Japanese broadcast. Season 3, Rising Hope, followed exactly the same tempo: four batches of 12 to 13 episodes between January and September 2026.
Do you need to catch up before Season 4?
Not strictly, since Laquium's storyline is resolved, but it helps: Wonders Ahead brings back the whole crew. Liko and her Sprigatito, Roy and his Fuecoco, Dot and her Quaxly, Ult, met in Kalos during Season 3, and Friede's Captain Pikachu. The first three seasons are streaming now, which leaves plenty of time before February 27.

And to wait in style with ambient light worthy of the journey, take a look at our light-up crystal Pokéballs: the crew of the Brave travels by airship, yours glow on the shelf.
