Pokémon GO Tour 2027 will celebrate the Alola region from Pokémon Sun and Moon. Two in-person events run from Friday, February 19 to Sunday, February 21, 2027 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and Los Angeles, followed by a global edition playable everywhere on February 27 and 28. Tickets open next Season, and the announcement already drops one hint worth reading twice.
The news landed on September 23 on the Pokémon GO website. I had been expecting this destination for two years: the order of regions left little suspense, and Alola is the one best suited to a winter event. Beaches, beloved regional forms, and two Legendaries everyone knows by name. Here is everything confirmed so far, and what still is not.
What are the dates for Pokémon GO Tour Alola 2027?
Three appointments are set: Kaohsiung and Los Angeles each host an in-person event from February 19 to 21, 2027, and the global in-game edition follows the next weekend, Saturday, February 27 and Sunday, February 28. It is the same split as 2026: cities first, the whole world one week later.

On content, the announcement stays deliberately vague: the Alola region from Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon takes center stage, and "tickets for both the in-person experiences and global in-game event will be available next Season". No Pokémon list, no detailed schedule yet.
Why Kaohsiung and Los Angeles, and still not Europe?
Los Angeles enters its fourth consecutive GO Tour year, after hosting at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena in 2024, 2025 and 2026. Taiwan enters its third, changing cities every time: New Taipei in 2025, Tainan in 2026, Kaohsiung in 2027. Europe is still waiting: across seven editions, the in-person GO Tour has never set foot on the continent.
One detail most coverage missed: Kaohsiung is not a newcomer. The city hosted the very first GO Tour Live on February 27, 2022, a special one-day event held during the Taiwan Lantern Festival, with a 25 US dollar ticket, alongside GO Tour Johto. In 2027 it graduates from a one-day format to the full three-day GO Tour, and at that scale it genuinely is a first.
For players outside the host cities, the real appointment remains the global edition on February 27 and 28: it carries over most of the city content, runs on local time, and past editions have shown the gap with in-person events mostly comes down to exclusive Special Research and atmosphere.
Does the "ultra" wink point to Ultra Necrozma?
Nothing is confirmed, but the hint is deliberate. I read the announcement in all four site languages, and each one lands the same pun: "another ultra fun year" in English, "une nouvelle année ultra fun" in French, "otro año ultradivertido" in Spanish, and the German version outright promises to turn the year into an "Ultra-Abenteuer", an ultra adventure. When a press text lines up the same wink in four languages, that is not a translation accident.
Specialist media read it the same way. "Some are taking this bit to mean that Pokémon GO Tour 2027 will see the introduction of Ultra Necrozma to the game, which is a fair guess given the phrasing and the focus on Alola," writes GamerRant. Necrozma arrived in Pokémon GO in summer 2024 with its Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings fusions; its final form, Ultra Necrozma, is still missing. A GO Tour is exactly the stage where that kind of piece gets unlocked.
Solgaleo and Lunala, the two natural headliners
Both Legendaries of the Alola generation are already in the game, which is good news for anyone preparing for February. Solgaleo and Lunala come from evolving Cosmog: 25 candies to reach Cosmoem, then 100 candies for Solgaleo if you evolve during the day, Lunala at night. Their shiny versions are brand new, July 2026 for the former, August for the latter.
Solgaleo is Psychic and Steel, a pairing it shares with very few Pokémon; Steel-type fans around here often gravitate to the Lucario LED Pokéball with wooden base, which plays the same metallic-fighter card. Lunala answers with Psychic and Ghost, and if Ghost types are your family of choice, the Gengar LED Pokéball on a wooden base already watches over plenty of trainers' desks.
Which Alola Pokémon are still missing from Pokémon GO?
This is the real stake of this GO Tour: Alola is one of the least complete regions in the game. According to Pokémon GO Hub's count, the game is still missing Wishiwashi and its School Form, Pyukumuku, Type: Null and its 18-type evolution Silvally, Minior with its colored cores, Magearna, and of course Ultra Necrozma. GO Tours have always been the event where holes like these get filled in one go.
The same count also expects a wave of new shinies, Cosmoem, Marshadow, Poipole and Naganadel, Zeraora, Comfey, or Mimikyu in its Busted Form. Over a worldwide weekend, that is what turns an ordinary hunt into a marathon: every spawn becomes a lottery ticket that can pay out.
And then there are the Alolan forms, in GO since 2018: snow-white Vulpix, long-necked Exeggutor, Fire-type Marowak. They will inevitably join the party, and Alolan Vulpix remains, to my eye, the finest visual achievement of the entire region.
How much will tickets cost, and when should you book?
No 2027 price has been published: sales open "next Season", with no precise date. The best reference remains the 2026 edition: a day at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles cost 30 US dollars before taxes, with an optional Mega Night evening billed 20 dollars extra, and the ticket included one day of on-site gameplay.
My advice as a longtime reader of Scopely announcements: do not rush anything. City tickets sell out fast, but the global edition is never capacity-limited, and its ticket has historically cost less than the in-person one. Waiting for the detailed program before pulling out your card has never made anyone miss a GO Tour.
What should you remember from the first six GO Tours?
Since 2021, GO Tour has walked the generations in exact order, one region per year. The series was due in Alola in 2027, and Alola it is. Here is the full thread:
