Pokémon EV10 “Destined Rivalries” Card Finally Revealed!
The new Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion, Pokémon EV10 – Destined Rivalries, will be released on May 30, 2025. This tenth expansion in the Scarlet & Purple series reintroduces Team Rocket and introduces new Trainer and Pokémon pairs. Description of the Destined Rivalries collection
Destined Rivalries centers on a clash between two sides: Team Rocket, led by Giovanni, and several famous Trainers and their Pokémon. The expansion is inspired by two Japanese sets (Heat Wave Arena and The Glory of Team Rocket) and continues the idea of a confrontation between heroes and antagonists. This is Team Rocket's first significant return to the Pokémon TCG since 2004.
Team Rocket Returns
The Team Rocket organization returns in this expansion with cards marked with the “R” symbol. Giovanni has a new Supporter card, and some Pokémon cards are explicitly under his control. Among them is Mewtwo -ex, used by Team Rocket, in a direct reference to the world of the video games and the first Pokémon movie.
Trainer Duos and Pokémon
In contrast to Team Rocket, the expansion introduces several Trainer-Pokémon pairs. These cards combine a famous Trainer with a related Pokémon, such as Cynthia & Garchomp -ex, Lute & Ho-Oh -ex, or Pepper & Dogrino-ex. This mechanic echoes the old Gym Heroes series, where Pokémon were named after their Trainer. These cards add a narrative twist to the collection and allow for the creation of themed decks.
